Who Are We?

Silverlink Software is the leading specialist PAS provider to the NHS, working with 12 acute trusts across more than 50 locations, to support 15 million electronic patient records every day. With over 20 years of domain knowledge, industry experience and compliance with the NHS’s processes and requirements, we are a trusted partner to the health sector.

Our flagship product, PCS, is one of the most widely-used patient administration systems (PAS) in the NHS. Recognised as being flexible, cost-effective, and user-friendly, it processes and validates high-volumes of data in real-time, to admit patients and track them in beds, bays and wards across the country.

Our simple to deploy and easy to use solutions are specifically designed to underpin a successful best-of-breed approach to digital transformation, delivering the same benefits as a single-supplier EPR without the same levels of vendor lock-in, long-term commitment and financial investment. By working with leading industry partners and integrating with clinical systems, our products support the NHS in achieving its desired digital maturity — outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan — and most importantly, delivering safer, more efficient healthcare.

Our Team

Andrew Meiner

Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer

LinkedIn

Andrew has had a successful career in healthcare IT for over 30 years, supporting the digital transformation of the NHS to meet the demands of modern care through his work for several healthcare software companies.

Beginning his career at Shared Medical Systems (SMS), where he worked as a developer for eight years, Andrew helped to develop fully integrated automated testing tools within CLINiCOM and ran the Y2K testing programme for SMS UK. From 1999, he worked for a variety of digital health suppliers with a technical focus on interoperability, in which time designing the HL7 integration capability for ComMedica was one of his achievements.

In 2006, he joined Cambio Healthcare Systems, a Swedish vendor, where he rose through the UK arm of the organisation into the role of Solutions Director.

In 2014, he joined Stalis Ltd as their Managing Director. Inspired by Swedish delivery of integrated healthcare, Andrew became actively involved with Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) INTEROpen and the openEHR movement, igniting his passion for the creation of an open health and care platform. He then rejoined Cambio and was focused on improving patient flow within NHS organisations, whilst encouraging the development of an open health platform technology.

As a staunch advocate of open standards around data for improving health and care, at Silverlink, Andrew upholds Silverlink’s vendor neutral approach to clinical data storage, consistent with the plans for the use of digital as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.

John Connelly

Chairman

John first became involved in healthcare in 2002, when he acquired a residential care home business, building it from 12 to 100 beds in less than three years, before selling it in 2005.

Following this, he formed an investment company focused on acquiring British healthcare IT enterprises, which ultimately led to the acquisition of Silverlink Software in 2008. John’s passion for health tech means he works closely with Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Meiner, on ensuring Silverlink continues to meet its commitment to the NHS to deliver high-value, low-risk technology solutions.

Before this, John spent the majority of his working career in IT business development, founding his first IT enterprise in 1972. Over a five year period, he led the company through several mergers and acquisitions, which ultimately resulted in him co-founding LBMS PLC in 1977. The company’s achievements were recognised by the then government, who awarded LBMS a project to develop a ‘Structured Systems and Development Methodology’ (SSADM) for government IT developments. Given the success of the project, SSADM became the mandatory methodology for all projects, including those across the healthcare sector.

LBMS was later acquired by PE and following the acquisition, John began a new venture, co-founding uSwitch in 2000, and oversaw the company’s growth into the leading price comparison service for utilities.
