Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) is a set of common specifications, frameworks and implementation guides to support interoperability within local organisations and across local health and social care communities. ITK Accreditation is a way to identify products that have been awarded ITK Standards Accreditation Certificates by Solution Assurance.
By publishing a series of common specifications and then by policing the deployment of those specifications through the ITK accreditation scheme, the ITK will bring a level of standardisation to the market. Only products which are of direct and measurable benefit to the NHS front line are considered for inclusion in the ITK.
In order to receive accreditation, the technical conformance of products with the ITK interface requirements must be demonstrated by evidence of this conformance along with the completed Certification of Compliance to ITK requirement.
